TMJ Disorder

Currently, more than 3 million people in the United States have been diagnosed with TMJ, many more suffer un-diagnosed. Symptoms range from mild jaw pain to massive tightness, heightened muscular sensitivity and lockjaw in extreme cases. This disorder is known to cause headaches, cluster-headaches and migraines.

Clenching and Grinding Teeth is a major cause of TMJ Disorder.

Doctors whom have patients in pain from Clenching or Grinding teeth, commonly refer to dentists with hopes of treating TMJ(temporomandibular joint) Disorder. To save teeth, dentists correctly prescribe mouth guards, but mouth guards do not stop the pain and dysfunction created by this disorder. This all too common issue can also cause the affects of Thoracic-Outlet-Syndrome(TOS)

Our therapists help alleviate the effects of Temporomandibular Joint Disorder by applying manual therapy directly to the pathway of the Thoracic Outlet. Sessions include alleviating pressure from the Jaw, Neck, Upper Back and Shoulders.

The Iler Method has the only “none-surgical” team in Austin TX  using a Manual Therapy System to address the effects of both TMJ and TOS.
